You’ll Learn About Waves
For a non-surfer, waves are just water moving in different patterns but for a surfer, waves are life. They talk to them and at San Diego Surf School, we teach students the language of waves. We will explain everything from how waves are formed and how you can identify the right type of wave. Don’t expect lessons to be boring as our instructors know how to add a dash of humor to keep you engaged.
You will learn everything about rip currents, tides, swells, and more. In the end, you will be able to identify the ‘right’ wave and be on your way to being an expert surfer.
We’ll Teach You To Select The Right Equipment
Learning to select the right equipment is as important as learning about waves. We will tell you everything about the surfboard and other equipment, including the fin, the leash, and the surf wax. Moreover, we’ll explain the importance of a wetsuit and how to get into one comfortably.
You will get to learn about the many types of surfboards and things to consider when selecting a board, including the weight and width. Once done with the classes, you will know all there is to know about surfing equipment, including about small items such as boardshorts, surf earplugs, and sunscreen.
You’ll Get To Practice Cool Maneuvers
We understand you want to show off your skills. Don’t worry, you will get a chance to learn a variety of maneuvers during training, including some aerial moves. Our instructors are highly trained professionals with years of experience in the industry. They will teach you different maneuvers and provide safety tips to reduce the risk of injuries.
They will select maneuvers based on your skills and abilities. Moreover, you will always have the option to request the instructor if you’d like to learn something specific. If feasible, they will include it in your lessons.
We Put Safety First
We want you and everyone else to be safe, hence expect a number of lessons on safety, including wearing safety gear, steps to take if you feel sick or uncomfortable, etc.
